Before we left on our trip to London, our friends, who spend a great of time here, urged us to get bread and other desserts from Gail's Bakery.  As New Yorkers, we consider ourselves to be serious connoisseurs of great bakeries so we have been visiting a few of GAIL's shops and have tried a selection of their breads, cookies, brownies, granola bars and their fabulous breads.  We have become addicted to their honey and walnut bread.  We just polished off one we bought a few days ago and my wife sent me their store in SoHo where I was fortunate in buying the last loaf they had in their store.  I also bought a potato and rosemary bread along with some cookies and other delicious looking treats.  Fortunately for folks who live in London, there are three locations for you to visit!  This is indeed a fantastic bread and dessert bakery! I'm planning one more visit before we head to the airport to help us survive our trip back to the USA!

GAIL's was a nice place to stop while exploring London. Grabbed a coffee and a little snack and was able to relax for a bit. The pastries sitting out tempted me to get another, but I didn't. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to rest their feet for a bit.

I have never had a better quice than their Ham, Leek and Comte. This combination is just perfect and all the ingredients are in the right amount.  Its not too cheesy or eggy, and you can just indulge in this God-sent product. The crust is neither too thick nor too thin. You'd definitely want to buy more than one!
I also tried one of the pastries that comes with a bunch of raisins on the inside, and for someone who doesn't like raisins, I really liked this!
Their Cheddar Chive scone is okay, nothing memorable.
My sister had the chocolate chip cookie and maple pecan scone and said they were pretty decent.

The scones (maple pecan and original) are lovely, especially with clotted cream and jam. Super friendly staff as well, very patient with new customers. Will definitely come back when I'm in the city.

Went on Sunday morning for a quick breakfast.  Loved the place, very cute and the cinnamon was great!
